PD Power Systems, LLC receives $5.2M award to provide power units in support of US Army programs
SPRINGFIELD, VA March 3, 2023 – PD Power Systems, LLC, a privately held Veteran-Owned Small Business, announced today that it received a $5.2M Firm Fixed Priced contract award from the US Army to supply power units in support of Missile Defense Agency programs.
The award is for power units that support multiple US Army and Missile Defense Agency programs.
The power units built by PD Power Systems support multiple US Army organizations to include the 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power)/FEMA, Force Provider Expeditionary, and various current and future Missile Defense Agency programs. Our power units are designed to operate in the stringent and harsh operational environments encountered in the field.
Mr. Mazen Badr, President and Chief Operating Officer of PD Power Systems, will lead the effort. He said, “PD Power Systems is proud to continue to supply and support our war fighters with state-of-the-art power products that are unique in their capabilities, today and for the future”.
PD Power Systems currently offers three variations of the power unit:
- MEP-PU-810C – The MEP-PU-810C model power unit is mounted on a two-axle wagon-style chassis equipped with surge actuated hydraulic brakes, a lunette-ring hitch tow bar, and is designed for low-speed mobility (up to 20mph), towed by vehicles without trailer brake controllers.
- MEP-PU-810D – The MEP-PU-810D model power unit is mounted on a two-axle chassis, equipped with air actuated brakes, a 5th wheel kingpin hitch, and is compliant for the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) transport at highway speeds (up to 55mph), towed by tractor/trailer vehicles.
- MEP-PU-810 DC – The MEP-PU-810 DC model power unit includes all the features of the D model built with additional power control and switching characteristics.
