SPRINGFIELD, VA November 17, 2023 – PD Power Systems, LLC, a privately held Veteran-Owned Small Business, announced that it received two contract awards to support U.S. Air Force Basic Expeditionary Airfield Resources (BEAR) Program with Remote Area Lighting Systems (RALS).
The RALS is a self-contained, skid-mounted, fully enclosed transportable area lighting system. The RALS uses photocell light sensing for automatic day-night and off-on operation with a manual override and conforms to the NEC for outdoor use. The RALS are designed to be used in military applications where area lighting is needed in harsh environmental conditions.

The U.S. Air Force BEAR Programs allow for rapid deployment of mobile airbases without relying on local resources during emergency situations. Equipment in a BEAR base is designed to minimize size and weight to transport by aircraft in support of critical missions.
